Fall
Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.
~ Emily Brontë
My lovely friend Margaret sent me this Instagram at the very beginning of fall, as the leaves were beginning to change in New England where she lives. Beautiful foliage is just one reason why I love fall so much. Fall was always a sweet time for me growing up - the start of a new school year, my birthday, football games, clear blue skies, and crisp air. I remember it being my favorite season for writing when I was in high school. I would speed over to the nearby marina near my high school, park my car at the bottom of the hill, and bask in the interaction of birds, water, and sky as the background for my latest writing endeavor. Some of my best journal entries and compositions were created there. Emily Brontë and I must be kindred spirits.
Speaking of fall, I recently posted about my Fall Craft Party, but I left off the last two crafts. Below are the inspirations for them, and after the party, I will post our versions, too!
This first craft is a fall leaf garland. It comes from a blog called A Beautiful Mess, which I have just today become obsessed with! It is just lovely, and I can't wait to keep perusing to see what other simply genius ideas Elsie and Emma have come up with!
This next craft was inspired by this photo of an "Autumn" banner. We are going to customize ours a little more. Some sample phrases I'm considering: "Happy Fall Y'all," "Harvest," "Give Thanks." I have some letter stencils were are going to use to spray paint the letters on natural or sage green burlap. I am thinking gold spray paint will be wonderful.
